Day 2
Today we left Clinton NJ heading for Boston. Our first stop was in New Haven, home of Yale and Louie's for Lunch, America's first hamburger. While in New Haven we were going to do a pizza challenge as seen on Travel channel. There are two restaurant's Sally's and Frank Pepe's and it is very debated which one is better. So the challenge is to eat a pizza from each place to determine which we prefer. Our first stop was Sally's unfortunately they were closed so by default Pepe's won the battle of the pizza just by being open. The pizza was good but I don't know why all pizza that is considered legendary has a hard, burnt, thin crust. I prefer a thick crust personally. Also mom made a scene as we were about to be seating by trying to cut in line. After that we continued on to Boston, this part of the trip was extrememly uninteresting, with excetion of the billboards that seemed to be advertising sex with sexy ladys and logos that said "make your own stimulus package". The drive was boring and the only visual stimulation was walls of trees on either side, then suddenly we were in Boston. Dru had heard how horrible the
driving was in town but it was so bad even Deb (our GPS) flipped out, sent us in one direction then immediately told us we were wrong.
We do find the hotel only to find there is no parking. This sends us on a trip around the block trying to see if maybe we were wrong, but no we are amazed to find zero parking. We do see a spot that we try to take long enough to unload our bags but not before we get cut off by a man who according to the meter maid "has to get to a wedding." We try one more time for a spot in front of him only to agitate the meter made further as once again she sends contempt in our direction with "you can't park in front of the fire hydrant"
Well needless to say we do get parked and with the help of the hotel bellman we get the bags in. The rest of the day was spent cruising the touristy areas, eating at Cheers, and watching street performers.
