A while back I tried to use dictionary.com's word of the day to take a photo each day representing the word. I didn't stick with it very long but I'm trying again, this time with my cell phone because I've become lazy like that. We will see how long it last. I'm guessing not very long.

I recently read this graphic novel by Derf Backderf and I highly recommend it. Backderf is a comic writer/artist who also happened to be classmates with Jeffrey Dahmer. It's a unique view illustrating the early battle with himself and the darkness inside, a battle he ultimately ends up losing.

I rarely make it to the movies these days.  I'm a small business owner so  it is just a bit too expensive to do on a regular basis, not to mention there really haven't been many movies lately that I have been excited to see.  The Cabin in the Woods did catch my eye as being a movie that seemed interesting and exciting enough to watch in the theater.  It's really tough to write a spoiler free movie review but just saying I loved it doesn't really do it justice either.  I had heard that the movie had a surprising twist but I wouldn't say a good twist just so much as creative and surprising plot.  Even from the trailer you know that this isn't a typical horror movie, and in the movie you know pretty much what is happening from the beginning.  The movie packs some fun surprise punches and maybe doesn't end quite like you might expect.  The pacing is great, I'm not sure how long this movie actually is but it seemed to fly by, I didn't have a single "get on with it" moment.  So trying my best not so spoil the movie I will just say I really loved it and highly recommend it for anyone wanting a movie that is just good fun.
